   Description

As a Finance and Administration Officer at Cemes Microfinance Limited, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the financial integrity and stability of our organization. You will be responsible for managing financial transactions, preparing financial statements, and providing strategic insights to support informed decision-making for Cemes Limited. You will also be responsible for overseeing all administrative tasks that concern the company.


   Duties & Responsibilities

Financial Reporting and Analysis - Prepare and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, to provide accurate and timely financial information to management.

Variance analysis and identify trends, risks, and opportunities to support strategic decision-making processes.

Budgeting and Forecasting - Assist in the development of annual budgets and forecasts by collaborating with department heads and senior management to establish financial goals and objectives. Monitor budget performance, track expenditures, and identify areas for cost optimization and efficiency improvement.

Accounts payable and receivable - Manage accounts payable and receivable processes, including invoice processing, vendor payments, and customer invoicing, to ensure timely and accurate recording of financial transactions. Reconcile accounts payable and receivable and resolve discrepancies promptly.

General Ledger Maintenance - Maintain the general ledger and ensure the accuracy and completeness of financial records by recording journal entries, reconciling accounts, and reviewing trial balances. Prepare month-end and year-end closing activities, including accruals, adjustments, and financial statement reconciliations.

Tax Compliance and Reporting - Ensure compliance with tax regulations and reporting requirements by preparing and filing tax returns, including income tax, sales tax, and payroll tax filings. Collaborate with external tax advisors and auditors to facilitate tax audits and address any tax-related issues or inquiries.

Financial Controls and Compliance - Implement and maintain internal controls and procedures to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with accounting standards, policies, and regulations. Assist in the development and documentation of accounting policies and procedures to enhance financial transparency and accountability.

Administrative Management- Handle administrative tasks such as office management, procurement, and staff coordination.Support HR functions, such as payroll, benefits administration, and compliance with labor laws.

   Skills & Experience

Bachelors degree in (Accounting, Finance, or related field,
CPA at least advanced level is a must.
Minimum of 2 years of progressive experience in accounting roles, preferrably in a microcredit institution
Proficient knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting standards, and regulatory requirements.
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to interpret and analyze financial data accurately.
Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel; experience with ERP systems is a plus.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and communicate financial information effectively to non-financial stakeholders.
